Early Years Activities
Successful music making in the Early Years requires a rich environment where children can explore and uncover musical ideas for themselves.
Here’s just a few suggestions……..
Insert Boomwhackers® into a wooden post to create a vertical xylophone.
Sit the tubes vertically into a frame. Using Octavator™ caps will create a lovely, deep sound.
String Boomwhackers® horizontally onto a rope and suspend. Play with a drumstick or beater. Notes can be arranged in pitch order or grouped into chords, (eg. C,E,G).
Have some coloured cards or stones available that match the Boomwhacker® colours. Children can set them out and try to ‘read’ them as notation, while playing the corresponding tubes.
